Microsoft Confirms Competing Platforms at 2026 Xbox Showcase, No Helix
Microsoft has confirmed it will "continue the precedent" by highlighting competing platforms during its upcoming 2026 Xbox Showcase, but don't expect to hear anything about the next-gen Helix device.
Microsoft has confirmed it will "continue the precedent" by highlighting competing platforms during its upcoming 2026 Xbox Showcase, but don't expect to hear anything about the next-gen Helix device.
Xbox chief content officer Matt Booty revealed that the Showcase will emphasize transparency about game platforms, possibly featuring PlayStation logos. While Microsoft aims to return to Xbox exclusives, its multiplatform approach will persist, with titles like Fable and Halo: Campaign Evolved also coming to PS5. The event will focus on games rather than strategic discussions, ruling out any Helix news.
Microsoft announced a new gaming console in June 2025, codenamed Helix in March of this year. Details remain scarce, but it's expected to support Xbox and PC games. The Showcase, scheduled for June 7, will exclude Helix news but promises insights into upcoming games.
