Matt Ryan Discusses Returning as Edward Kenway for Assassin’s Creed:

Edward Kenway himself, actor Matt Ryan, was on hand at IGN Live to discuss Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced.

Resynced is a remake of 2013's Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, a game that is particularly beloved, even in the midst of such an already popular franchise. Ryan expressed his excitement about revisiting the character of Edward Kenway, highlighting the advancements in technology since his original portrayal 13 years ago. While much of his original vocal performance will remain, new material has been incorporated to deepen the character.

According to Ryan, Resynced will enhance the original game, providing a more immersive experience for both long-time fans and newcomers. He mentioned that players discovering the game for the first time will have a special experience. During the discussion, Ryan shared his personal connection to sea shanties, recalling how he learned one during his childhood in Wales.

The panel concluded with Ryan leading a rendition of
