Nintendo has updated Switch 2 launch title Mario Kart World with new routes for its Knockout Tour mode, as part of a surprise update.
Nintendo has added Drill Rally and Boomerang Rally to Mario Kart World's Knockout Tour mode in the 1.7.0 update. These new routes are not entirely new tracks but are groupings of existing courses where players compete to avoid elimination. Players can access these routes after clearing at least one Knockout Tour rally, with more routes planned for future updates. Additionally, the update allows players to add collected stickers to in-game pictures taken in Photo Mode.
Other changes include improvements to acceleration performance, gliding speed adjustments, and tweaks to gameplay mechanics such as Jump Boost and slipstream handling. The update also introduces a new ramp from Airship Fortress to Bowser's Castle and adds support for the Thai language. Various bug fixes have been implemented to enhance the overall gameplay experience.
