Del Chafe III, previously the assistant game director, will take over as the new game director for Marathon, working alongside creative director Julia Nardin to lead the game forward. Ziegler expressed confidence in both Chafe III and Nardin, stating that they are well-prepared to steer Marathon towards a brighter future.
Ziegler thanked the team and fans for their support during his tenure, hinting at new developments for Marathon in the future. His departure adds to the recent changes at Bungie, which included layoffs affecting both the Destiny and Marathon teams. Ziegler's exit follows the dismissal of Christopher Barrett, the previous game director, over misconduct allegations.
