Marathon game director Joseph Ziegler is leaving Bungie after being with the company since December 2022.

Joseph Ziegler, the game director for Marathon, has announced his departure from Bungie. Ziegler, who has been with the company since December 2022, made this known on Twitter. His last day overseeing Sony's extraction shooter, Marathon, is July 17, 2026. Del Chafe III, the assistant game director, will take over his role, working alongside creative director Julia Nardin to lead the game into the future.
