Mafia: The Old Country is getting a surprise story expansion this August.
Mafia: The Old Country is set to receive a story expansion titled Man of Honor in August. The DLC, priced at $10, will reintroduce Don Salieri, the antagonist from the original Mafia game. Scheduled for release on August 14th, the expansion will include two new story chapters set in the midst of the main game's narrative, along with additional Free Ride content.
The new missions, occurring in winter 1905, follow Enzo as he aids Ennio Salieri post his prison release. Players can expect new weapons, vehicles, and environments in this expansion.
In an interview with Polygon, associate design director Josh Zammit discussed the decision to explore Salieri's character before his rise to power in the original Mafia. Zammit mentioned uncovering untold stories about Salieri's past, shedding light on his aspirations to reach America and how this influences Enzo's future. The unexpected DLC news for Mafia: The Old Country, initially a smaller-scale release, reflects the game's success, leading to continued support from Hangar 13.
