Lords of the Fallen 2 Epic Exclusivity Deal Canceled

In 2024, developer CI Games signed a deal with Epic Games that would have made the Epic Game Store the exclusive PC outlet for the upcoming Lords of the Fallen 2.

Now, the agreement between Epic and CI Games has been terminated. CI Games posted its separation agreement with Epic Games on April 14, citing that an earlier release would have been detrimental to the company's interests. The breakup is described as 'conditional,' with no further details provided on the reasons for the split.

The separation agreement ensures that Epic assets used in creating Lords of the Fallen 2, such as Unreal Engine 5 and Epic Online Services infrastructure, will not be affected. With the original contract void, it is highly probable that CI Games will release the game on Steam, although this is yet to be officially confirmed by either party.

Lords of the Fallen 2, set to launch this year, will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The game's first trailer, released last year, hinted at players battling gods who were once potential allies. CI Games also introduced a 2.0 update for the original Lords of the Fallen, adding new features to the game.
