Developer CI Games has pushed back the release of Lords of the Fallen 2 from 2026 to the first quarter of 2027. CEO Marek Tyminski stated that the delay will allow for significant improvements to the game based on feedback and testing results. This decision aims to ensure the highest quality at launch through further refinement and strengthening of the overall experience.
The delay to 2027 also aims to avoid competition with GTA 6, scheduled for release on November 19, and provide the game with a better opportunity to stand out in the market. Despite the setback, the development team is motivated by the positive reception to recent reveals and is committed to delivering an exceptional dark fantasy action-RPG as a worthy successor to the franchise. Epic Games' exclusive licensing agreement for the PC edition on the Epic Games Store has been terminated, altering the game's distribution plans. Notably, Lords of the Fallen 2 is the third installment in the series, following Lord of the Fallen (2014) and Lords of the Fallen (2023).
