Switch owners who have been enjoying the Kingdom Hearts franchise through cloud versions will need to transition to the new Switch and Switch 2 versions as Square Enix discontinues the Kingdom Hearts' Switch cloud versions. Titles affected by this decision include Kingdom Hearts - HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX - Cloud Version, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue Cloud Version, Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC) Cloud Version, and Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece Cloud Version. The collections were previously priced between $40 to $50, with Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece bundling them all for $90.
Players can now pre-order the newly announced digital versions of Kingdom Hearts - HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX for Switch and Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] for Switch 2. Those who owned the cloud versions are eligible for a 50% discount on the new digital versions, including Kingdom Hearts - HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC), and Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] for the Nintendo Switch 2.
While a physical version of Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] for Switch 2 will be available, the discount is not applicable to this edition. However, Square Enix has assured players that save data from the cloud versions can be transferred to the digital versions for Switch 2. Additionally, Kingdom Hearts 4 was teased during a recent Nintendo Direct, revealing that the game will be coming to Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC simultaneously, although a release date has not yet been announced.
