JK Simmons Reflects on Canceled Batgirl Movie

JK Simmons isn't thrilled about the decision to scrap the Batgirl movie.

JK Simmons shared his thoughts on the canceled Batgirl movie during an interview on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast. Originally cast as Commissioner Gordon in the DC universe, Simmons was set to appear in multiple films, including the abandoned Batman project. Despite completing filming for Batgirl, the movie was ultimately scrapped by Warner Bros. as part of a larger decision to write off certain projects for tax purposes.

Simmons expressed disappointment at not being able to see the finished film, mentioning that the test audience's feedback was not the reason for its cancellation. He recalled the enjoyable experience of working on the movie and believed it had the potential to be a fun superhero flick. However, with the film deemed 'not releasable' by DC Studios, the chances of it ever being released seem slim.

Despite hopes for a future release, the current state of the DC Universe and the studio's focus on new projects make the resurrection of Batgirl unlikely. Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah have limited access to the film's footage, further complicating any potential revival of the project.
