Four women have accused actor Jared Leto of criminal sexual conduct, stating that the incidents occurred when they were teenagers between 2002 and 2016, while Leto was in his 30s and 40s. Leto, known for roles like the Joker in the DC Extended Universe and Skeletor in Masters of the Universe, is the subject of a BBC documentary featuring testimonies from 10 women, nine of whom are sharing their stories publicly for the first time.
Despite multiple attempts, the BBC was unable to obtain a response from Leto. Previously, nine women had accused Leto of sexual impropriety, which he denied. Leto, an Oscar winner for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, has also faced controversy related to his behavior on set and his recent box office disappointments.
Director Travis Knight described Leto's portrayal of Skeletor as representative of toxic masculinity before the release of Masters of the Universe. Leto's past actions, including sending unusual gifts to his Suicide Squad co-stars during filming, have also drawn attention.
