Titanic and Terminator director James Cameron is exploring new technologies to expedite the production of Avatar sequels 4 and 5. In an interview with The Empire Film Podcast, Cameron expressed his intention to revamp his approach to filmmaking to reduce both time and costs significantly. He aims to achieve this by implementing more efficient methods for creating the highly anticipated movies.
Cameron mentioned that it will take approximately a year to devise a strategy for streamlining the production of future Avatar films. During this period, he plans to focus on writing and other projects. The original Avatar movie was released in 2009, with the sequel, The Way of Water, hitting theaters 13 years later in 2022.
Despite the success of the franchise at the box office, Cameron is determined to innovate and optimize the production process for Avatar 4 and 5. The director has set ambitious goals to reduce both the time and cost of creating these films, aiming for greater efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
