James Bond will meet social media influencer Khaby Lame in 007 First Light, developer IO Interactive has revealed.

IO Interactive has announced that social media star Khaby Lame will make an appearance in the upcoming game 007 First Light. This unexpected reveal has sparked curiosity among Bond fans, especially since Lame's cameo was unveiled before the game's official release, eliminating any element of surprise. Known for his deadpan TikTok videos, Lame will be seen recreating his iconic gesture in the game, guiding Bond with a humorous twist.

In a promotional video shared on Instagram, players get a sneak peek of Bond approaching Lame for directions, only to receive a comical response. IO Interactive mentioned that Lame's character will play a role in Bond's adventure as he embarks on a global mission to #EarnTheNumber. The studio collaborated closely with Lame to capture his likeness and design his outfit for this reimagined James Bond story.

Following the reveal, industry analyst Daniel Ahmad explained that highlighting Lame's involvement early on was part of a strategy to engage a broader audience beyond traditional Bond fans. Despite being primarily known for his social media presence, Lame has made appearances in other entertainment mediums, including Fortnite and a recent Will Smith movie sequel. Additionally, IO Interactive shared a preview of the opening mission of 007 First Light after the game's early copies were leaked, with the early access launch starting on May 26 and the full release scheduled for May 27.
