Invincible VS Devs Open to Mortal Kombat Crossover

The minds behind Invincible VS are open to collaborations with other genres and IPs, specifically in regards to welcoming potential guest characters from the Mortal Kombat franchise.

The team behind Invincible VS expressed their interest in collaborating with other genres and intellectual properties, particularly by introducing guest characters from the Mortal Kombat series. During Evo 2026, Game Director Dave Hall and Lead Combat Designer Bau Bautista discussed the possibility of incorporating characters from different universes, similar to Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8.

Hall and Bautista enthusiastically embraced the idea but emphasized the importance of ensuring that any guest characters would organically fit within the violent world of Invincible. They hinted at the possibility of Mortal Kombat characters making an appearance, citing the franchise's history of incorporating characters from various media genres.

Aside from potential crossovers, the developers also hinted at future updates to the game, such as introducing more single-player content and new mechanics for existing characters. They disclosed initial plans for a 'revive' mechanic for Atom Eve, which was ultimately put on hold to prioritize refining the game's core elements.

The team emphasized their receptiveness to community feedback, actively monitoring player comments across various platforms and channels. They pledged to continue expanding the game with additional characters, modes, and enhancements to cater to the evolving needs of the player base.

Furthermore, the developers reassured fans that they are committed to delivering more single-player content in the future, although the fate of the cinematic story mode remains uncertain. Despite being a relatively small team of 50 individuals, they are dedicated to pushing boundaries and enriching the Invincible VS experience.
