Ever since Intel Panther Lake launched back at CES 2026, we've known that Team Blue's latest mobile chips were coming to handhelds.
Ahead of Computex 2026, Intel has introduced the G3 Extreme, featuring 14 CPU cores and a 12-core Arc B390 GPU, aiming to power top handheld gaming PCs this year. These chips will run at 2.3GHz, slightly lower than the 2.5GHz clock speed, enabling them to handle most AAA games at low to medium settings with over 60 fps.
Additionally, Intel will release a less powerful Arc G3 chip with a 10-core Arc B370 GPU clocked at 2.2GHz, expected to be 10-20% slower than the G3 Extreme. The G3 Extreme is set to debut in handheld gaming PCs like the Acer Predator Atlas 8, boasting 24GB of RAM, a 1200p display, and a 1TB SSD.
Intel's new architecture promises improved battery life, addressing a common issue with handheld gaming PCs. The upcoming handhelds will support XeSS multi-frame generation, enhancing performance on fast displays like Acer's G3 with a 120Hz refresh rate.
