Insomniac's Wolverine to Feature Team X Instead of X-Men

Marvel's Wolverine finally got its big gameplay reveal during Sony's latest State of Play showcase, alongside first looks at a variety of new characters from the wider X-Men universe.

Insomniac's upcoming game Wolverine will not include the traditional X-Men team, but will instead focus on Team X, a group of mutant mercenaries safeguarding others of their kind. Creative director Marcus Smith clarified that in this iteration, mutants are largely in hiding, with the storyline revolving around Logan's encounters with various mutants in distress. While characters like Mystique, Omega Red, and Sabretooth are hinted at, the trailer also alludes to the possible appearance of Lady Deathstrike in the game. The game is set to introduce a diverse range of Marvel characters when it launches exclusively on PS5 on September 15.
