GTA 6 is reportedly 18 months behind its original release target, aiming for a spring 2025 launch internally.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick disclosed in an interview that GTA 6 was initially planned for a spring 2025 release, before the official announcements of fall 2025, May 2026, and the current November 19, 2026 date. Despite the delays, Zelnick emphasized the company's commitment to ensuring Rockstar Games achieves perfection in the game's development.

Business Insider estimated Take-Two's spending on GTA 6 to be between $1-1.5 billion, surpassing most AAA game budgets. Zelnick highlighted the extensive development efforts and resources allocated to GTA 6, aiming for it to be a groundbreaking release in the entertainment industry.
