Rockstar and Take-Two have reiterated that GTA 6 will be digital-only, dispelling hopes for a disc release. The Hollywood Reporter stated that there are no plans for Grand Theft Auto VI discs to be printed, neither at launch nor in the subsequent months. Despite a fan's claim of a Rockstar Support agent mentioning the availability of a physical copy later on, the report clarified that this referred to physical copies with a code, not discs.
Experts suggest that Rockstar's decision is driven by financial considerations and security against early leaks. The physical copies will contain codes that remain inactive until the official release on November 19. While some fans prefer physical media, industry experts believe that the digital-exclusive approach will not impact overall sales. GTA 6 will offer a standard edition for $80 and an ultimate edition for $100, providing exclusive content behind the higher price point.
