Gears of War: E-Day Reveals Origin Story of Chainsaw Lancer

Gears of War: E-Day depicts the earliest days of the war between humanity and the Locust Horde, with the origin story of the chainsaw-fitted Lancer being a key highlight.

The game's campaign will feature the creation of the iconic weapon, inspired by survivors using a regular chainsaw in a grocery store battle. Developer The Coalition ensured authenticity by sourcing the original chainsaw model used in the first Gears of War game in 2006.

Players can expect a familiar chainsaw sound and gruesome effects when using the weapon in Gears of War: E-Day, set to release on Xbox Series X|S and PC on October 6, with an open beta scheduled for August.
