Games Workshop Secures £7.8 Million Refund on Trump's Tariffs Amid

The boss of Warhammer maker Games Workshop secured a £7.8 million refund on Donald Trump’s tariffs, but faces threats to its supply chain.

The UK-based company primarily earns revenue from selling miniatures for tabletop games like Warhammer 40,000. The imposition of Trump’s tariffs heavily impacted Games Workshop, leading to a payment of £12 million in new U.S. tariffs during the previous financial year. However, following the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling against the tariffs, the company managed to reclaim £7.8 million.

Trump's introduction of a 10% global tariff rate is expected to cost Games Workshop £13 million in new U.S. tariffs this financial year. CEO Kevin Rountree emphasized the company's ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency and mitigate the impact of tariffs through measures like price increases and operational changes. Despite these challenges, Games Workshop reported a 4.9% increase in profit before tax, reaching a record £275.7 million for the fiscal year ended May 31.

Additionally, Rountree highlighted concerns about global conflicts disrupting the supply chain and rising plastic input costs. The company anticipates facing approximately a £2 million impact from supply chain disruptions and inflationary pressures related to energy market volatility.
