Game of Thrones RTS War for Westeros Delayed to Early 2027

The next Game of Thrones game, the RTS War for Westeros, has been delayed.

The PC game War for Westeros, originally planned for a 2026 release, has been pushed back to early 2027 by developer Playside. The delay aims to ensure the real-time strategy game set in the world of Westeros meets the expectations of both RTS players and Game of Thrones fans. Playside expressed gratitude for the support and patience of the community during this extended development period.

War for Westeros, announced in 2025, allows players to control iconic Houses like Stark, Targaryen, Lannister, or the Night King, in a quest to conquer the Seven Kingdoms. The game features both single-player and multiplayer modes, with the developer striving to deliver an experience that immerses players in the TV show's universe.

Warner Bros. Discovery, the owner of the Game of Thrones series, is currently undergoing acquisition by Paramount for over $100 billion. Warner Bros. plans to focus on key franchises such as Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Mortal Kombat, and DC in its future gaming ventures.
