Friday the 13th Prequel Series Crystal Lake Release Date Revealed

Peacock has finally confirmed the release date for Friday the 13th's upcoming prequel series, Crystal Lake.

After years in development, the prequel series Crystal Lake is set to premiere on Peacock on October 15, 2026. The show will star Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees and Callum Vinson as Jason Voorhees. While plot details are scarce, it is anticipated to explore the Voorhees family before the tragic events at Crystal Lake. The series, consisting of eight episodes, hints at a potential multi-season arc.

The concept for the series dates back to the early 2000s, with director Sean S. Cunningham expressing interest in a spin-off focusing on Crystal Lake's history. Originally developed for The CW, the show was later revived by A24 for streaming. Despite setbacks, including a writer's strike and creative changes, the series is now in its final stages of production.
