Fortnite Update Introduces Major Gameplay Changes with Overwatch

The big Fortnite Overwatch update is here, bringing Tracer, Genji and the gang to Epic Games' battle royale Island. But the changes only begin there — with a major shakeup to gameplay, in Zero Build mode in particular.

The latest Fortnite update has introduced significant gameplay changes, including the removal of lethal fall damage in the main battle royale mode. Players now survive falls with 1HP and can use bandages to recover. Additionally, the Zero Build mode has been revamped, offering new features like a 'Pocket Item' assigned at the start of matches, which can include various useful items.

Glider redeploy is back, allowing players to cut their gliders near the ground for a quick start, albeit at the risk of taking fall damage. Equipping the pickaxe now grants unlimited stamina, and eliminations provide an overshield to promote aggressive gameplay. Environmental cover strength has been enhanced, and Reboot Van timers reduced for faster squad respawns.

Moreover, the update includes Overwatch locations on the map, such as Hanamura and King's Row, along with exciting additions like Tracer's pulse pistols, offering a unique first-person perspective and time manipulation abilities.
