Fortnite Returns to Apple App Store Amid Epic's Ongoing Battle

Fortnite is back on the App Store, with Epic boss Tim Sweeney declaring 'the beginning of the end of the Apple Tax worldwide.'

Fortnite has made a comeback on the App Store, as Epic Games' CEO Tim Sweeney continues to challenge Apple's store fees. Despite a previous court ruling in Epic's favor, Apple had blocked Fortnite's return. However, Epic has now re-launched the game on iOS, citing global regulators' interest in Apple's commission rates on in-app purchases.

Epic remains steadfast in its fight against what it deems as Apple's anticompetitive practices. Tim Sweeney expressed confidence that global regulators will intervene to ensure a fair mobile app ecosystem. While Fortnite is back on iOS, it is yet to return to the Australian App Store, pending a court order related to Apple's business conduct.

The return of Fortnite to the App Store comes amidst challenges for the game, including declining interest and competition from other platforms like Roblox. Epic's battle with Apple and Google, along with investments in the Epic Games Store, has added to the pressures faced by the popular battle royale title.
