The Steam Machine is slowly making its way into the wild, with some folks getting their hands on Valve's not-a-console console.

Former SIE Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida recently shared his thoughts on the Steam Machine, referring to it as 'meh' due to its performance and high price tag. Despite acknowledging its positives like a small form factor and quietness, Yoshida ultimately found the device underwhelming. He highlighted issues such as slow boot times and questioned the system's recommendation to default to 1080p.

While praising features like the changeable faceplate and the ability to play Steam games on the living room TV, Yoshida concluded that the Steam Machine falls short of expectations, especially considering its retail price of over $1,000. The device has started shipping out after its June 29 launch, but potential buyers might face delays due to preorder confusion. Those eager to get their hands on one sooner may resort to eBay, albeit at a significantly higher cost.
