Florida Man Allegedly Used Steam Malware to Steal $220,000 in Crypto

Federal law enforcement arrested a 21-year-old Floridian for installing crypto-stealing malware into Steam games to steal over $220,000 from victims' wallets.

Zyaire Dontaevious Zamarion Wilkins was arrested on July 14 and charged with conspiracy to obtain information by computer for private financial gain. The malware was hidden in games like BlockBlasters, Dashverse, Lunara, and PirateFi, believed to be on Steam. Between May 2024 and February 2026, Wilkins and others infected around 8,000 devices with these games, collecting private data and login credentials to access victims' crypto wallets. The group allegedly made off with at least $220,000.
