The art showcased the Assassin, Ronin, and Hunter characters that the story's protagonist, one of the last remaining samurai, will encounter on his journey. Takashi Okazaki, known for Afro Samurai, is behind the character design. Aniplex, the studio behind Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Solo Leveling, and Sword Art Online, is handling the adaptation, with Takanobu Mizuno directing. Satoshi Maejima and Gen Urobuchi from NITRO PLUS are responsible for the script.
PlayStation Productions' head, Asad Qizilbash, expressed excitement about the anime adaptation, citing the success of previous film and TV projects based on gaming properties. The series, set in Ghost of Tsushima's immersive world and Legends mode inspired by Japanese mythology, will be exclusively available on Crunchyroll in 2027.
