The game, set to launch as a Switch 2 exclusive on September 17, allows players to select from four main characters, each with their own compelling narrative. These characters are competing in The Heroic Games, where the victor will be granted a wish. The recent trailer introduced each hero, such as Kai, who aims to save his father, Dietrich, a swordsman seeking formidable opponents, Theodora, a queen pursuing her kingdom's dream, and Leda, a musician driven by revenge.

Each character in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave possesses unique abilities that can sway the course of battle. In addition to the official matches in The Heroic Games, players will have free time to enhance their forces by training, recruiting warriors, and engaging in battles outside the city walls. The game will be priced at $80 for physical copies and $70 for the digital edition. The Fire Emblem series has been active on the Nintendo Switch, with various mainline titles and spin-offs. The most recent release, Fire Emblem Engage, offered a more straightforward narrative compared to its predecessor, Three Houses, focusing on classic Fire Emblem gameplay and a simpler storyline.
