Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Introduces New FITS System

When the Unknown Journey continues in Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, Cloud and his companions are going to embark on it while debuting some fashionable new combat gear.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation introduces the FITS (Function Integrated Tactical Suitware) system, inspired by the classic Final Fantasy job system. This new gameplay mechanic allows characters to wear new suits, gaining access to unique skills in battle. Each character in Revelations can equip four FITS suits, each providing new skills while maintaining core stats. Square Enix has revealed the Warrior and Black Mage FITS suits, with series director Naoki Hamaguchi sharing insights on the system's development.

Hamaguchi mentioned that the team wanted to evolve the combat system for the third title rather than completely overhauling it. The goal was to offer players the ability to customize characters like Cloud more extensively, allowing for diverse playstyles. The inclusion of the job system enables players to transform characters like Cloud, known for their specific traits, into different roles, enhancing the gameplay experience.

In other Final Fantasy 7 Revelation news from Summer Game Fest, it was announced that Sephiroth will have a new voice actor, and minigames will not be essential for character development or item acquisition in the upcoming game. Final Fantasy Revelation is set to release in 2027 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2.
