Fable has officially been delayed to February 2027, Xbox has confirmed.
Fable, the upcoming game from Playground Games, has been pushed back to Q1 2027 from its original late 2026 release date. Xbox's chief content officer, Matt Booty, stated that the decision was made to ensure Fable has its own spotlight. This delay is seen as a strategic move to avoid competing with Grand Theft Auto 6, scheduled for November 19.
Xbox announced the delay in a social media post, emphasizing the importance of giving Fable the attention it deserves. By moving the release to February 2027, the game will have a dedicated launch window. The decision to steer clear of GTA 6 aligns with Xbox's strategy to provide ample space for its key releases, such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.
While the release dates for Halo: Campaign Evolved and Gears of War: E-Day remain undisclosed, Microsoft is expected to share more information at the upcoming Xbox June Showcase event.
