Epic Games Store Roadmap Promises Major Updates and Redesign

Epic Games revealed its plans for the future of the PC digital storefront at Unreal Fest in Chicago. The roadmap includes improvements like Fortnite chunked installation, third-party patch notes, user-written reviews, and more. While specific release dates are not provided, these updates aim to enhance the store for both gamers and developers.

Since its launch in 2018, the Epic Games Store has aimed to attract users with exclusive games and free offerings. Despite facing challenges competing with Steam, Epic is determined to revamp the store with features users have been waiting for. The upcoming changes are part of a 12-month roadmap that promises a five-times faster cold start for the launcher.

Steve Allison, VP and GM of the Epic Games Store, discussed the future plans in an interview with IGN. The redesign is expected to address existing issues and make the store more competitive in the PC gaming market.
