Diablo 4's upcoming Season 14, Death Awakening, will feature a collaboration with Overwatch, focusing on in-game purchases. Players will have access to two Overwatch-themed weapon cosmetics, a mount trophy, player emblems, and the game's first earnable armor dye for free. The in-game shop will offer armor sets inspired by various Overwatch heroes, along with two pets - Kiriko's spirit fox and a Pachimari.
This crossover between Diablo 4 and Overwatch introduces a unique blend of the two universes, combining the dark, demon-filled world of Sanctuary with the optimistic sci-fi setting of Overwatch. Despite the contrasting tones, Blizzard aims to adapt specific elements from Overwatch to fit well within Diablo 4's universe.
Diablo 4's design director, Dan Tanguay, mentioned that this collaboration signifies a shift in approach for future collabs, indicating a broader range of tones to be explored as the game matures. The Season 14 update, including the Overwatch collab, is set to launch on June 30, bringing significant changes to Mythic items, War Plans, a new Lair Boss, and a solo-self-found mode.
