Following the studio's formation in 2024, Maverick Games has revealed its debut title, an open-world, narrative-driven racing game named Clutch.
The studio, led by Playground Games veterans with Forza Horizon experience, introduces Clutch as a cinematic open-world racer. The game revolves around sibling racers in the R1K racing series, blending sanctioned events with an underground racing scene known as the Midnight Collective. This narrative unfolds in a dynamic world with PvPvE elements influencing various crews and alliances, offering a mix of planned and spontaneous races.
Maverick Games aims to provide an arcade-style racing experience through unique physics and open-world gameplay, allowing vehicle customization to create personalized rides. Despite Amazon's initial publishing plans falling through, the studio is working with new partners to ensure Clutch's release in spring 2027.
