Chuck Beaver, former writer and producer of Dead Space, expressed skepticism about the possibility of a Dead Space 4 due to low sales figures despite a dedicated fan base. Speaking on the FRVR Podcast, Beaver mentioned the challenge of reaching over 10 million in sales to justify the franchise's high production costs. He compared the sales target to successful titles like Resident Evil and highlighted the industry's shift towards live-service offerings.

Beaver acknowledged the financial realities of game development and the challenges of sustaining a horror franchise like Dead Space. Despite the positive reception of the Dead Space remake by EA-owned Motive Studio in 2023, it seems insufficient to pave the way for a sequel. The remake received praise from IGN, with a 9/10 rating, positioning it as a definitive experience for fans.

Glen Schofield, the co-creator of Dead Space, expressed his desire to revive the franchise, even though EA has shown little interest. Schofield mentioned potential cost savings and hinted at the possibility of acquiring the Dead Space IP. With EA's recent acquisition by an investor group, Schofield sees an opportunity for the franchise's resurrection through different media formats like movies and TV series.
