Red Hook Studios has announced new DLC titled The Fire's Edge for Darkest Dungeon, set to release in August. Despite the existence of a sequel, this DLC will introduce concepts from Darkest Dungeon 2 back into the original game. Players can expect to see The Duelist and The Runaway heroes making a return, each with unique abilities such as party movement mechanics and a new Burn damage type.
The Fire's Edge will not only introduce new characters but also bring new mechanics to trinkets and various districts within the game. The paid DLC is set to launch on PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch on August 18. Red Hook Studios has reassured players that efforts are being made to ensure the DLC does not disrupt existing mods and that an enhanced mod manager is in development for the original Darkest Dungeon.
