Spike Chunsoft, the studio responsible for the Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair remaster, has officially postponed the release of Danganronpa 2x2 to early 2027. Producer Shohei Sakakibara shared that despite progress towards a 2026 release, the decision was made to push the launch to 2027. The delay was accompanied by the introduction of a new story remix feature called Slayhem Mode.
Sakakibara mentioned, "While development has been progressing toward a 2026 release, we have decided to move the launch to early 2027. We will share a more specific release date at a later time." The studio emphasized their commitment to delivering an exceptional gaming experience and expressed gratitude for the fans' patience during the extended development period.
Additionally, the announcement shed light on Danganronpa 2x2's Slayhem Mode, teasing a fresh narrative experience compared to the original storyline. This mode promises new victims, culprits, and plot twists, offering approximately 20% more content than the Original mode.
