Colman Domingo and Robert O’Hara to Write Live-Action Princess and the

Deadline reports that Colman Domingo is in talks to co-write a live-action movie focused on Princess and the Frog protagonist Tiana alongside playwright and director Robert O’Hara.

Not much else is known about the project, which is part of Disney’s series of live-action adaptations. Despite recent box office disappointments like Moana and Snow White, Disney is pushing forward with more live-action remakes. A new Tangled film is in development, with Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim set to star as Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. Diego Luna and Scarlett Johansson were also linked to roles in the movie.

Disney’s upcoming live-action projects include Bambi, Hercules, and a Gaston spinoff. The Hercules film, produced by Joe and Anthony Russo, aims to provide a modern twist on the classic tale, similar to the approach taken with the Tiana-focused movie by Domingo and O’Hara.
