The Witcher developer CD Projekt Red is teaming up with Scopely, a Saudi Arabia-owned game developer, for a new mobile game that is still in development.
CD Projekt Red's joint-CEO Michał Nowakowski provided an update during the company's latest earnings briefing, stating that the game based on a CD Projekt franchise will not be released this year. Nowakowski emphasized the iterative nature of game development, highlighting the need for time to achieve a satisfactory level of quality. The collaboration with Scopely was announced in March 2025, with CD Projekt teasing a game based on one of its franchises.
Scopely, acquired by Saudi Arabia's Savvy Games in 2023 for $4.9 billion, is known for its success in the mobile gaming industry, particularly with titles like Monopoly Go and Pokemon Go. CD Projekt had previously hinted at the possibility of developing mobile games based on The Witcher and Cyberpunk franchises, following the release of The Witcher: Monster Slayer in 2021.
