Capcom has announced plans to pull Dragon’s Dogma 2 microtransactions from sale ahead of the release of the Dark Arisen expansion.
Capcom will discontinue the Deluxe Edition of the action RPG as well as “certain DLC items” on June 24. This comes alongside a permanent discount for the digital version of the base game. In a post on social media, Capcom listed the microtransactions it was pulling from sale, including the character editor and the warp location marker.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 faced criticism at its 2024 launch for offering over 21 microtransactions on day one. These ranged from $0.99 to $4.99, with items like an Explorer’s Camping Kit for $2.99 and $0.99 gaol key. While obtainable in-game, the microtransactions sparked controversy for altering game difficulty. Capcom has released a major title update and plans more improvements, with Dark Arisen set to launch on October 9, 2026.
