Capcom has confirmed that Monster Hunter Wilds is in development for Nintendo Switch 2.
Capcom has revealed that Monster Hunter Wilds is currently being developed for the Nintendo Switch 2. The game, which is an updated version of the 2025 installment, was announced shortly after the conclusion of Summer Game Fest 2026. Despite expectations for a grander reveal platform like a major summer showcase or a Nintendo Direct, Capcom chose to make the announcement through a brief post on X/Twitter.
Monster Hunter Wilds initially bypassed the Switch during its release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S in February 2025. However, with the upcoming launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, fans can anticipate the popular franchise's return to Nintendo consoles. While specific details about the Switch 2 version are yet to be disclosed, the community eagerly awaits more information.
Capcom's announcement coincided with the unveiling of the latest expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds, titled Ascendance, at Summer Game Fest 2026. The expansion, set to introduce new lands and abilities, is scheduled for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X | S in 2027.
