Call Of Duty: Warzone Transitioning Away from PS4 and Xbox One

As part of the announcement of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 today, Activision also confirmed that Call of Duty: Warzone is going away on legacy platforms.

Activision revealed that with the launch of Modern Warfare 4 Season 1, expected shortly after the game's release on October 23, Call of Duty: Warzone will cease to be available on PS4 and Xbox One. The game will be delisted for new downloads on June 4, but existing players can continue playing. Call of Duty Points bundles will also be removed from these platforms on June 4. Additionally, on June 25, the in-game store for Warzone on PS4 and Xbox One will be taken down, although players can still progress through the free Battle Pass.

Players with a Call of Duty Points balance on PS4 and Xbox One when the game shuts down will retain their balance and purchased content as it's tied to their Activision account. Activision mentioned that content from Modern Warfare 4 will start appearing in Warzone with the launch of MW4 Season 1. Modern Warfare 4 is set to release on October 23 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Switch 2, with an upcoming open beta before the launch.
