Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 and 2 Coming to New Platforms Next Month

Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 and 2 are being brought to new platforms in July, courtesy of Iron Galaxy.

Treyarch has announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 and 2 will be ported to new platforms by Iron Galaxy. These ports will initially be exclusive to PlayStation, with speculation suggesting availability on PS4 and potential compatibility with PS5 through backward compatibility. The specifics of native PS5 support remain uncertain.

The upcoming ports will include the full game experience with campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies modes. Details regarding progress transfer, cross-play features, and platform isolation are yet to be disclosed. While Xbox and PC users already have access to these titles, the PlayStation community will soon enjoy these popular games in a new avatar.

Despite the absence of upgrades for Xbox and PC, the arrival of Black Ops 1 and 2 on PlayStation marks a significant move for the franchise, known for its limited re-releases. Activision's past remasters have garnered mixed reactions, with concerns over player base division in newer Call of Duty titles.
