Marathon developer Bungie plans to revitalize the game with new PvE modes ahead of Season 2. Game director Joe Ziegler announced that Season 2 will introduce two experimental modes focusing on PvE gameplay.
Bungie aims to provide players with a more relaxing gaming experience by introducing PvE-focused modes that emphasize completing objectives as a crew. The studio also plans to enhance the sci-fi elements of Marathon by introducing new zones, Runner shells, weapons, equipment, and loot. Additionally, Season 2 will feature an expanded Vault, the return of Duos mode, and various improvements to attract a wider player base.
The upcoming update is designed to offer players a more diverse and enjoyable gameplay experience, moving away from intense PvP battles to provide a more laid-back and fun environment. Bungie will unveil more details about the Season 2 content, including Night Marsh, the Cradle progression system, and the Runner shell Sentinel, in the week of May 25. Marathon Season 2 is set to launch on June 2.
