Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars directors Joe and Anthony Russo have ruled out the possibility of a secret third movie, saying the upcoming blockbusters will be a 'complete expression' of the story they want to tell.
Directors Joe and Anthony Russo have confirmed that there will not be a third movie in the Avengers series, with 'Doomsday' and 'Secret Wars' serving as a complete narrative. Despite not ruling out future collaborations with Marvel, the Russos emphasized that 'Secret Wars' will mark the conclusion of their current involvement with the MCU. Speculation about a potential third film arose due to the complexity of the upcoming two movies, but the Russos have clarified that this is not the case.
Principal filming for 'Avengers: Doomsday' concluded last year, with reshoots planned to incorporate new scenes and characters. Following this, filming for 'Avengers: Secret Wars' will commence. The Russos also mentioned that the MCU will be starting afresh with 'Doomsday,' moving away from past storylines. The release dates for the films are December 18, 2022, and December 17, 2027, respectively.
