Hours before launching, the official Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game account on X announced that the Xbox edition of the title isn't coming out today, July 23, as planned.
Instead, it's now releasing on Xbox Series X|S sometime before September 3 due to unforeseen circumstances on a backend feature. The delay is quite last-minute, especially since the game's launch was being promoted less than 24 hours ago. Cross-play isn't available on Switch yet, and the only localization option on the hybrid system is English. The Deluxe Edition is also missing in action on Switch, but all these issues will be addressed in the future, although no official timeline has been revealed yet.
Paramount Games' Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game seems to have overlooked addressing these speedbumps earlier, despite being a fan favorite. The game features characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. It's currently available on PC and PS5, with only the Standard Edition on Switch. The regular version costs $30, while the Deluxe Edition, priced at $50, includes the Year 1 pass and a digital art book. The upcoming DLC will add Iroh, Ty Lee, Lin Beifong, Bolin, and a fifth character voted in by the community. Additionally, a Switch 2 version is in development.
