The newest Apple iPad Air with M4 chip sees a record price drop in May, now available for $519.99 on Amazon.
Earlier this year, Apple launched the 8th generation iPad Air priced at $599.99. Recently, Amazon slashed the price to $519.99, marking an $80 discount from the MSRP. This reduction is the lowest price observed since the tablet's release. Alongside the M4 chip upgrade, the latest iPad Air features more RAM than its predecessor and Apple's latest N1 wireless chip, introducing Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 support.
The iPad Air M4, released in March 2026, showcases significant improvements, notably the Apple M4 chip, offering a 20%-30% performance boost compared to the previous M3 chip. It also integrates Apple Intelligence features like Genmoji, Writing Tools, and AI-enhanced Siri.
In a departure from the usual incremental updates, this iPad model has increased its RAM by 50%, from 8GB to 12GB. This enhancement enables smoother multitasking, resource-intensive app usage, and better utilization of AI capabilities. Additionally, the iPad Air now houses the new N1 wireless chip, supporting Wi-Fi 7 for faster-than-gigabit networking speeds and Bluetooth 6 for improved latency and power efficiency over Bluetooth 5.
