Anya Taylor-Joy to Read Lord of the Rings Books Before 'Lethal Elf'

Anya Taylor-Joy says she’s about to read the Lord of the Rings books as she embarks upon her own journey through Middle-earth, having been cast in The Hunt for Gollum.

Anya Taylor-Joy, known for her roles in Furiosa and Super Mario Galaxy Movie, will be playing the character Seren, a Sindar Elf of the Woodland Realm and a trusted agent of King Thranduil in The Hunt for Gollum prequel. Taylor-Joy expressed her excitement about the 'lethal' description of her character.

Taylor-Joy shared her childhood decision to be a Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter fan exclusively, eventually watching the Peter Jackson movies during the pandemic. She now plans to read J. R. R. Tolkien’s books in preparation for her role in the Lord of the Rings movie.

The Hunt for Gollum has sparked discussions among fans, drawing comparisons between Seren and Tauriel from The Hobbit movies. The film will delve into Gollum's backstory and the events preceding The Fellowship of the Ring.

The Hunt for Gollum will utilize machine learning and AI to de-age characters, including returning actors Elijah Wood and Ian McKellen. The movie is set to release on December 17, 2027, with another project, The Lord of the Rings: Shadows of the Past, also in development.
