IO Interactive, known for Hitman, developed, published, and funded 007: First Light, with potential changes on the horizon for a sequel. Amazon's acquisition of MGM in 2021 raised questions about the involvement of Amazon Games in future Bond games. While Amazon holds the rights, it's still early to confirm any projects. IO Interactive plans a trilogy for James Bond games, with hints of a sequel in First Light's conclusion.

Despite Amazon's increased role, fans are eager for a sequel following the success of First Light. Amazon's boss mentioned a closer integration of movies and games, pointing to the Tomb Raider franchise as an example. IO Interactive, based in Denmark, funded First Light independently, leveraging Hitman's success. Alongside a possible sequel, IO is developing a multiplayer fantasy game and has committed to revisiting the Hitman series.
